Who We Are
Garfield Park A.R.I.S.E. was formed in the community at the Garfield Park Community Worship Center (formally known as Garfield Park Baptist Church), under the direction of Rev. E. Stephen Roberts, D.D. and was formed in a collaborative effort between the community’s residents and the members of the church.
Garfield Park A.R.I.S.E. was organized in 2007 in the community of Garfield Park on the West Side of Chicago. It’s name A.R.I.S.E. is an acronym for:

The Mission of Garfield Park A.R.I.S.E:
•Increase number of high school and college educated residents living in this community by helping to stall the drop-out rate, encouraging high education, and supporting GED adult and continuing education programs.
•Consider projects of interest that reduce crime and provide safe neighborhoods
•Create jobs and employment for the people living in these neighborhoods
•Effect and motivate an infusion of business start-ups and entrepreneurs into the community
•Training for jobs and preparation for a professional career
•Help create a community environment that raises an attitude of personal confidence, good citizenship, and moral expectation in all
•Help with providing improved housing
•Programs of help that contribute to improving the general health
